"I truly enjoyed my time in Costa Rica in 2017, and was impressed by the environment and community in Nosara and San Juanillo. The area boasts great beaches, good for surfing and swimming, a supportive community of great locals and expats, and a healthy Yoga vibe, a number of retreat centres, with plenty of vegetarian options. The combination of outdoor life, warm weather, yummy food and peaceful atmosphere will make your experience in Costa Rica an unforgettable one!" - Matthew Yoga DharmaYoga Dharma is the union of body and mind. Yoga practice improves self awareness, health, and increases sensitivity and wisdom. The practice allows as to connect to ourselves and to the world. The yoga Asanas (postures) are beneficial for our state of happiness, as they stretch, strengthen, energize and nourish our physical body. The practice of yoga also strengthens and flexes our mind; it develops mindfulness, concentration, serenity and stability.
Mindfulness MeditationMindfulness or Vipassana meditation is based on cultivating awareness of the body and the mind. During Meditation we observe and witness with a calm mind all that appears and disappears in our body-mind structure. We observe our body, feelings, emotions, thoughts and habits. During practice, concentration, mindfulness, energy and serenity increase, and those factors allow insight knowledge to appear. We call this insight: Vipassana, which means seeing clearly, seeing reality as it is.

About matthew sweeney:![]() When I was young I was entranced by Star Wars and wanted to be a Jedi Knight and have a teacher like Obiwan Kenobi or Master Yoda. I began studying martial arts, which included different styles over a fourteen year period, accumulating two black-belts and one brown-belt. As a teenager I was introduced to Yoga by my martial arts teacher and continued to practice Satyananda Yoga a little each week to improve my flexibility.
I have also spent the last 20 years practicing different forms of self inquiry, including Meditation, Tantra, Gestalt Therapy, Transpersonal Therapy, Transforming Cellular Memory, Buddhism and Advaita Vedanta. All of these have contributed greatly to my understanding of Yoga and the connection between the body, Self, and the Divine. For the last 15 years she has been staying for monthly retreats at the Chom Tong monastery in Northern Thailand practicing Vipassana Meditation under the guidance of Venerable Ajaan Tong Sirimangalo, which also ordained her as a Buddhist Nun during one of her retreats in 2011, and under the guidance of her teachers Thanat and Kate Chindaporn.
Anat and her life companion, Dr. Reuven Barak, MD, a Physician practicing Traditional Chinese Medicine and Integrative Medicine are the authors of the book Mapa's Guide for Healthy Life, published in Israel. Anat's website: Yoga Dharma School
