Silence & Mindfulness Meditation Retreat
About our Silence & Mindfulness Retreat:
Join us to our Silence & Mindfulness Meditation Retreat. This retreat is a moment-to-moment intimate spiritual experience, all in the beautiful surroundings and serenity of Nature.
Silence allows us to be in touch with ourselves and all that surrounds us. In silence we are able to develop Mindfulness and be consciously aware to our body movements and daily activities while sitting, walking, eating, and lying down. We learn how to cope with our feelings, thoughts, habits, likes and dislikes, avoid mental and emotional distractions and maintain calmness and serenity. During the retreat we will learn both Samatha (calm abiding) meditation and Vipasana (insight wisdom) meditation. Samatha and Vipassana Meditation:Samatha means calm. The Samatha techniques of meditation are an effective way of training the mind to develop inner peace, strength and freedom from agitation. and turmoil, leading on to clarity and understanding of ourselves and the laws of nature.
By regular daily practice the chattering mind gradually becomes calmer and clear. We become less confused and we begin to understand the habits of the mind that hold us back from happiness and freedom. We become kinder to ourselves and those around us. By developing Samattha practice we become more vivid, our senses sharpen and our life experience becomes joyful and vibrant every moment. The most common Samatha meditation practice is based attention to the breath which is said to be suitable for all types of people. Vipassana meditation develops insights and understanding of the truth. It develops clear understanding and vision of reality as it is. Vipassana meditation is based on the Buddha's' teachings. The unification of Samatha and Vipassana leads to a very clear and direct experience of the nature of all things, and to a real change of perception and understanding of the world, which we are. and what we are. Samatha and Vipassana are two "qualities of mind" to be developed through meditation. These skills you'll develop will hopefully become a regular addition to your approach to daily life. Relax, Heal, Breathe and Smile
