Enjoy the practice of Meditation, Pranayama, Asana, chanting and deep relaxation whilst learning and enjoying high vibrational raw foods. We invite you to experience living in harmony with nature and connecting to the self by deepening your yoga and meditation practice. The mind, body and spirit influence and mirror one another. Through daily practice we aim to experience and develop this relationship, opening ourselves to our senses and feelings in doing so. Daily activities include sahdna of Kundalini yoga, asana practice, pranayamas, meditations, mantras and meanings. Throughout the program you will learn how to prepare raw foods and incorporate them into your diet.
Special optional activities include sweat lodge, a beach visit, turtle watching, horse riding and a walk to our very own Secret Creek. Evening is a time of relaxation in the rancho, sampling Gobinde's 'Yogi tea cafe', singing and even enjoying the odd bonfire. Come expand your spiritual self in Alya's peaceful space - nourished by mother earth, warmed by the tropical sun and lulled to sleep by the sound of the ocean. Kundalini Yoga![]() Much more than simple exercise or breathing work, Kundalini is a discipline which will awaken your awareness and take you into your true self.
Kundalini practice consists of mantras, breath work, meditation and asanas. Through these practices Kundalini equips you with the tools to boost your energy and strength, raise your vitality and unlock your spiritual potential. AsanaWe will use asana, or physical practice, as a form of physical therapy to help address various ailments of the body. In addition asana will increase flexibility, movement and strength.

About Kari Gobinde Valenzuela:![]() Gobinde's interest in the body and its peak potential began at a very early age when she started dancing and playing sports. Her 16 years of experience as a massage therapist have helped her to gain an even deeper understanding of how the muscular and skeletal systems work together.
In discovering yoga, Gobinde saw all her passions realized in one art form and was hooked. During her first teacher training, a terrible car accident almost robbed Gobinde of her ability to walk. With incredible perseverance and determination she rehabilitated herself through yoga. In doing so she gained a great empathy with those who have debilitating physical ailments. "Yoga is like a good friend whom you can always rely on to tell you the truth" Despite the setback, Gobinde completed her first 200hrs of teacher training in Kundalini Yoga. Inspired by her experience in rehabilitation, she went on to undertake 200hrs of Hatha training. She continues her education through seminars and workshops on healing the body. Gobinde has been a yoga instructor for nine years now and wants to help everyone unlock their inner yogi! "Through proper body alignment you can unlock your body's true potential"
![]() Gobinde discovered the benefits of healing the body through food in her early twenties in order to get off digestive medications. Raw and healthy foods played a vital part in this transition. She began to develop her own repertoire of food combinations. She took this knowledge to the Dallas public schools, teaching to children how to cook nutritious food and make better choices in their diets. She is helping her students and clients to heal there bodies one meal at a time.

The modern Western diet is often high in unhealthy fats, cholesterol, sugars and salt. Processed foods especially are low in nutritional value and often laden with empty calories. Many of us are locked into a perpetual cycle of illness and medications which damage as well as heal. A diet of raw, unprocessed food can liberate you from this cycle. Raw, plant-based food is live food, full of active enzymes and nutrients. Detoxing and using raw foods removes impurities from your system, dispels lethargy and starts to feed your body. During the retreat you will learn to make all sorts of delicious raw drinks, meals and snacks. You will learn how to incorporate these into your daily life. PranayamaPrana or "breath" is your life force. Learning to control your breathing can influence many elements of your life - from reducing the impact of stress to increasing the power of your speaking or singing voice.
